How To Make Running FUN!

The best thing about running for a workout is you don’t need anything but yourself, the ground and maybe shoes….probably best to bring shoes.

I know what you are thinking; "but Alex I get bored while running!" I get it! I do to sometimes. I find that listening to a podcast for a book on tape helps me keep your mind entertained. I think less off the time and or distance. My runs go by faster when I am focusing on something other than the sound of my breath.

Another way I keep myself entertained is by doing running intervals. It is GREAT for the body because it is a super effective way to spike the metabolism and challenge the muscles. It's HITT training on the pavement.

Having some sweet tunes helps too! Want a sick playlist? Check out my playlists on Spotify for some inspiration.

Going for a run doesn’t have to be miles and miles to be effective. Try this; guaranteed to get your sweaty, blast your metabolism and crush calories!

  • Jog for 1 minute
  • Run for 5 minute
  • Sprint for 30 seconds
  • Run for 3 minutes
  • Sprint for 30 seconds
  • Run for 5 mins
  • Sprint for 1 minute
  • Jog for 1 minute
  • Spring for 1 minute
  • Run for 2 minutes
  • Sprint for 1 minute
  • Cool down jog for 4 minutes… 25 minutes and because you are consistently changing pace I guarantee it will go by FAST.

Tips from your trainer:

  • Pump your arms slightly across your body.
  • Keep you hands in soft fists (pretend you are holding potato chips between your thumb and pointer finger).
  • Run more towards your toes then flat footed and lead with your hips.
  • COOL down when you are done! Stretch your hamstrings and hip flexors.
